Profinder and Processing of Personal Data
Profinder provides its customers (“Customer”) with various services (“Services”), through which the Customer may obtain, from the databases of Profinder and other controllers, target group data consisting of company and/or consumer data suitable for its needs.
The target group data available to the Customer through the Services consists of consumer and business contact data processed by Profinder as controller, as well as data contained in the databases of other controllers, where a third party acts as controller and Profinder processes such data on behalf of and for the account of the third party.
With regard to the contact information register provided by Profinder (“Profinder Directory Information”), Profinder acts as a provider of a contact information service as referred to in Chapter 23 of the Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014), and processes such data as a controller in accordance with the requirements defined in that provision.
Profinder also provides its Customers, through its user-friendly interface, with the possibility to access, perform searches and create target groups from the databases of third-party controllers. In such cases, Profinder acts on behalf of and for the account of those controllers on the basis of agreements concluded with them.
When obtaining target group data through the Services, the Customer, as controller, determines the purposes and means of processing of the target group data it has obtained. In such cases, this constitutes a disclosure of personal data under data protection legislation from one controller (Profinder or another controller) to another controller (Customer) for the Customer’s own purposes. At the Customer’s request, Profinder may further process this personal data register created for the Customer as a processor.
As controller, Profinder processes personal data of employees and other representatives of Customers and prospects. Profinder contact information service is available at +358 50 467 7771. Verification of contact details from Profinder Directory Information by calling the service number is available Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00.
Questions and Answers on Data Protection
The data subject must address a request for access to personal data to the controller. Profinder acts as the controller for Profinder Directory Information, Profinder decision-maker data, and personal data of employees of Profinder’s customers and prospects.
You can access your own data in Profinder’s registers here. Requests concerning this data may also be addressed to Profinder by email at tuki@profinder.fi.
In other cases, the controller of your personal data is Profinder’s partner and/or Profinder’s customer. Profinder is obliged to assist the controller in responding to requests concerning the exercise of rights, but we cannot take action on such requests unless the controller specifically instructs us to do so.
The data subject must address a request for the deletion of personal data to the controller. With regard to Profinder Directory Information, Profinder decision-maker data, and data concerning employees or other representatives of Profinder’s customers and prospects, you may address your request to Profinder. In other cases, the controller of your personal data is Profinder’s partner and/or Profinder’s customer.

Profinder acts as a provider of a contact information service as defined in the Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014) with respect to Profinder Directory Information. Profinder Directory Information originates from Suomen Numeropalvelu Oy, which receives contact details from telecommunications operators as disclosures in accordance with data protection legislation. If the data subject wishes to prohibit the inclusion and disclosure of their data in the contact information service, the data subject must primarily contact their telecommunications operator, whereby the prohibition on disclosure and publication is centrally conveyed to all providers of contact information services.
